From someone that lives in Afghanistan:

The attached files contain photographs of the 7.5 magnitude earthquake that killed over 400 people and wounded more than 2,000 on October 26, 2015. The epicenter of this earthquake was about 75 miles south of Faizabad, in Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan. The earthquake caused massive damage in Badakhshan, the Panjshir Valley and Northern Kunduz in Afghanistan and also in Northern Pakistan and Kashmir, India.

The earthquake affected Kabul, although it was not a major disaster. I was in Baba Babur Gardens when the quake struck. The ground shook badly and small buildings swayed back and forth. The quake lasted for nearly one minute.

Many Kabul structures have earthquake damage, such as broken windows and cracks in walls, ceilings and in the areas where ceilings and walls connect. Pieces of concrete fell from the roof tops and walls into courtyards and streets below.

The day after the quake, I went to the Panjshir Valley, where I am preparing to purchase, transport, deliver and plant tree saplings to replace orchards that snow avalanches destroyed. Government officials informed me that the quake completely destroyed 105 homes in just one small district of the Valley. Many of those homes had just been rebuilt after winter snow avalanches destroyed them.

I saw collapsed homes along the way through the Valley as well. This earthquake was devastating to a large region of Northern Afghanistan, Northern Pakistan and Northeastern India.
